DLL (Dynamic Linked Library) Files:
To download and install a DLL file, you will first need to download the DLL file and register it on your computer.
Steps:

1. Download the DLL file using the download link on this page and save the file to one of the folders as seen in step 3. .EXE files do not need to be manually registered.
2. Backup the old version of the DLL file.
3. Click Start > Run and type in the following command:

Windows 95, 98, or Me:
regsvr32 \windows\system\x264-536-install.exe

Windows NT or 2000:
regsvr32 \WINNT\system32\x264-536-install.exe

Windows XP or Vista or Windows 7:
regsvr32 \windows\system32\x264-536-install.exe

To replace the x264-536-install.exe file:

1. Close all open programs.
2. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
3. In the Named box, type x264-536-install.exe.
4. In the Look in box, click My Computer, and then click Find Now.
5. In the search results list, right-click x264-536-install.exe, and then click Rename.
6. Type x264-536-install.exe.old, and then press ENTER. If there are multiple copies of the x264-536-install.exe file in the list, rename each copy.

When you start the program that uses the DLL or EXE file, the program checks for necessary files. The programs should start normally.
